See It & Be It: Celebrating Black & Brown Educators
At Multnomah Educators Rising, we know that to be it you need to see it. The mini-docuseries, “See It & Be It”, highlights the voices of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color educators of Multnomah County. Their stories celebrate the beauty and power of teaching and will inspire the next generation of diverse students in one of the whitest cities in America. The series premiered at a community gathering held on May 1st at the Hollywood Theater. As Nichole Watson, Principal of Prescott Elementary, put it best, “education needs a rebranding… we must show a different narrative. A different side. Of what it means to be an educator. It is lit up here.”
